The ongoing Bundelkhand Gaurav Mahotsav in Lalitpur,which ended on Monday, provided an exhilarating experience for the spectators, with people had the opportunity to delve into the art and heritage of Bundelkhand, gaining insights into its rich cultural tapestry.
VAs the Mahotsav wrapped up in Lalitpur, the baton is set to pass to Jalaun for the third phase scheduled from February 1 and 2.
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is actively showcasing the cultural and historical richness of Bundelkhand on the global platform during the 16-day Bundelkhand Mahotsav.

On the final day of the Lalitpur Mahotsav, the local crowd immersed themselves in adventure sports, enjoyed the captivating Mayur Raas performance by Praveen Kumar from Mathura, experienced the vibrant Farwahi folk dance presented by Ayodhya’s renowned artist Mata Prasad, and were treated to a musical presentation by the Dream Note Musical Band.
Bundelkhand Gaurav Mahotsav is being organized in 7 districts of Bundelkhand between January 23 and February 18, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Chitrakoot, and Banda. Tourists have the opportunity to experience cultural performances by local artists while enjoying a heritage walk, hot air balloon ride, and water sports.
The Mahotsav commenced on January 23 in Jhansi, captivating the audience with cultural, historical, water sports, and hot air balloon activities from January 23 to 25. The second phase of the Mahotsav is scheduled for January 28 and 29 in Lalitpur.
During the Mahotsava, visitors have a unique chance to view the city’s rich heritage from the sky through hot air balloon rides. Additionally, there are supervised yoga sessions led by trained yoga gurus for those seeking better health. The Heritage Walk in Lalitpur provides tourists with insights into the historical heritage, such as the Dashavatar Temple of Deogarh.
During the two-day Lalitpur Mahotsav, mornings are marked by hot air ballooning and yoga sessions, followed by heritage walks and water sports activities at Sumera Lake on the Betwa River. The evenings are full of cultural programs.
On the evening of January 29, the cultural atmosphere comes alive with vibrant programs at Tuvan Temple Ground in Devgarh. The event features mesmerizing performances, including the renowned Mayur Raas of Mathura, the traditional Farwahi dance of Ayodhya, and captivating musical renditions by the Dream Note Music Band.
UP Minister of Tourism and Culture, Jaiveer Singh, emphasized that the Bundelkhand Gaurav Mahotsav aims not only to promote tourism but also to generate employment opportunities in the region.
He highlighted the vast potential for tourism in Bundelkhand, citing numerous historical heritage sites and picturesque natural beauty spots that make the region a compelling destination for visitors. Bundelkhand Gaurav Mahotsav will conclude on February 18 at Kalinjar Fort grounds in Banda district.
